Perform the indicated operations:

1. The width of a rectangle is 12ft and the length is 8 feet. Write the ratio, in simplest form, of its length to its width as a fraction.

2. During one month a family spent $750 for rent and $600 for food. Find the ratio, in simplest form, of the amount of money spent for food to the money spent for rent.

3. A family bought a new washer and dryer. They spent $400 for the washer and $520 for the dryer. Find the ratio, in simplest form, of the money spent for the dryer to amount of money spent for the washer.

4. A contractor mixes sand and stone to install fence posts.For a specific job, he combines 45 pounds of sand with 15 pounds of stone.Find the ratio, in simplest form, of sand to stone.

5.While shopping a women saw a jacket she liked that cost $100.The next week, she went shopping and the same jacket was reduced to $80. Find the ratio, in simplest form, of the decrease in price to the original amount.

6. A house had an original value of $200,000. Three years later it was selling for $250,000. Find the ratio, in simplest form, of the increase in price to the original value.
